Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 August 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Football Session Manager at www.footballsessionmanager.com (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
This is practical product documentation for an MVP, not formal legal advice.
1. The Service
Football Session Manager helps captains and players organise casual football sessions: create or join teams, schedule games, RSVP, share invite codes, track simple “paid” status against a captain’s payment link, and optionally sync workout data from Strava.
Game fees between players and captains are not processed by us. Money for pitch hire or session fees moves outside the Service (for example via a payment link the captain provides). “Paid” ticks in the app are self-reported markers.
WhatsApp Assist is an optional paid subscription for captains, billed through Stripe. It is separate from game fees and enables WhatsApp RSVP / payment prompts and captain digests for teams you assign under your plan.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You may sign up with email and password or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for activity under your account.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Service, violate these Terms, or create risk for other users.
2A. WhatsApp Assist subscriptions
- Subscriptions are billed per captain account via Stripe (monthly or yearly), in tiers that grant a fixed number of team slots.
- Enabling WhatsApp on a team uses one slot and is permanent for that subscription; self-serve reassignment is not available.
- Players must opt in with a valid phone number before receiving WhatsApp messages. Message volume is rate-limited.
- Meta’s WhatsApp Business terms also apply to message delivery.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
- Attempt to access other users’ data without authorisation, disrupt the Service, or reverse engineer it except as allowed by law.
- Misuse invite codes, spam other users, or impersonate others.
- Upload content that you do not have the right to share, or that infringes others’ rights.
4. Captains, players, and content
- Captains are responsible for the teams and games they create, including how invite codes and payment links are shared.
- Players are responsible for their RSVPs and for any payment arrangements made outside the Service. “Paid” ticks in the app are self-reported convenience markers, not payment confirmation by us.
- You retain rights to content you submit (such as names or notes). You grant us a limited licence to host and display that content as needed to operate the Service.
5. Third-party services
The Service may integrate with third parties such as Google (Sign-In), Strava (optional workout sync), Supabase, Resend, and Vercel. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
6. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change, and the Service may be modified or discontinued.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that game organisation, reminders, RSVPs, payment status, or Strava sync will always be accurate or available.
You are responsible for your own safety and arrangements when playing football or meeting other users. The Service is a coordination tool only.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Football Session Manager and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim (if any) or (b) zero if the Service is provided free of charge.
9. Privacy
How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
